In the past, I used to have a good job with a good salary and good benefits.
But then I had a baby, so I had to make a choice.
I knew my family and my baby needed me, so I chose my family.
I decided to pause my career for a while and started to explore online jobs.
However, I felt scared because I was afraid I had fallen behind my peers.
So I decided to take advantage of my time taking care of my baby to learn English.
I tried to move fast to catch up, but it made me exhausted and affected my health.
My husband told me,
If you feel overwhelmed today, don't blame yourself for not doing well.
The only thing you need to do is slow down and return to yourself.
After that, I realized that I don't need to be like others.
I learned to stop comparing myself to anyone else.
Everyone learns and grows at their own pace.
I started to go at my own pace.
That means moving forward at a speed that feels right for me, not because of others.
Even though I don't learn as quickly as some people, I still believe.
I have my own pace.
My path is not a straight line.
Sometimes it goes forward, sometimes it goes backward.
But I think that's okay, as long as you know where you want to go.
And as long as you're moving forward, it means you're becoming 1% better every day.
